Welcome back ladies! Today I’m sharing my favorite makeup brushes and tools. Great makeup is a combination of the techniques, the products, and the tools you use.
With that being said, it’s important to note that there are good quality products (see my post Quality Makeup On A Budget) and makeup brushes that don’t break the bank. Now let’s get into the nitty gritty of my favorite brushes and why!
The Beauty Blender. This might seem like a lot to spend on a sponge (it’s $20!), but I’m telling you it’s worth it. I apply my foundation and concealer with this and that’s probably the most important part of any makeup routine. To get that blended, flawless application, $20 doesn’t seem too bad. They last a long time as well. I probably use each one for 6 months before replacing it.
The MAC 217 Blending Brush. If you buy one eyeshadow brush, make it this one. It’s seriously that good. The brush blends eyeshadow so beautifully and will make even questionable eyeshadow look good. I recommend this brush to everyone I know, especially girls new to makeup. It really does the work for you. I recently heard about the comparable Morphe M433 brush. I have this on my list of things to buy and will definitely let you know if it’s as good as the MAC one! At only $6 I’m really curious to try it.
A pencil brush. I only use my pencil brush for my inner corner highlight, but I consider an inner corner highlight to be almost a necessity for eye makeup. It makes such a difference! Any pencil brush will do, it’s the size of this brush that really matters. It’s the perfect size for detail work.
Last but not least, my Morphe G22 brush. This brush is only $10 and it’s amazing. It’s actually a foundation brush, but it’s so large I find it best for blending. I use this all over my face after applying bronzer and blush. It blends the bronzer/contour beautifully so there’s no harsh lines. It’s also really nice for blending the bronzer down your neck. Definitely keeps the dreaded makeup line at bay!
