Welcome back ladies! Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was spent exploring NYC! Every year the Brewers choose a series to be our “family trip”. They allow all the wives, fiancé’s, and children to fly with the players to that city and they provide transportation for us to and from every game. They chose the New York Yankees series this year and I was so excited! That was my first time to Yankee Stadium and I was thrilled to spend a few days in the city with my hubby!
Earlier this season there was a rained out game we were supposed to play with the Cubs. They ended up rescheduling it for the off day before the family trip. So that meant we had to bus down to Chicago and meet the guys on the plane after their game. After beating the Cubs, everyone was pretty pumped up and it made for a fun plane ride!
The first day was spent shopping in SOHO and around our hotel. I’m bummed I didn’t remember to take pictures inside the stores! The Bloomingdales was 6 floors I think and the Saks was 9! I was in shopping heaven.
The second day I wanted to get in as much sightseeing as I could. I’ve been to NYC a few times before so I skipped the places I had already seen. This trip I explored Central Park for two hours (yes, TWO!) and could not believe how huge it was!!! It’s absolutely stunning! After that, I made a trip down to lower Manhattan to visit the September 11th Memorial. It was really great to see that and pay my respects to the victims.
After Central Park and the Memorial, my friend Aurora and I made a pit stop at a local pizza restaurant right on the water. The views were gorgeous and you can bet we ordered pizza! We then walked over to the Brooklyn Bridge to snap a few pictures and awe at it a bit. I have a slight obsession with bridges so this was necessary to see!
Saturday night was the only time I had to really spend much time with Jimmy. We went to eat at an Italian restaurant in SOHO and it did not disappoint! It was very authentic and I think I ate my weight in carbs lol!
Sunday was the last day in NYC and the last game for the Brewers before the All-Star break. Jimmy pitched that game so we made it an early night on Saturday so he could rest up. It was really something to watch him pitch in such an iconic stadium. And we won!! The Brewers are now 5.5 games ahead in their division and the energy of the team feels amazing! Also, I apologize for not getting any pictures of Yankee Stadium! I typically don’t look at my phone when Jimmy is pitching and didn’t remember once he finished! I’ll get better at taking more pictures I promise!
